Crown of Thorns

CROWN OF THORNS was formed at the dawn of the 90s by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Jean Beauvoir (formerly of The Plasmatics and Voodoo X) recruiting drumming legend Tony Thompson of Chic and Powerstation fame, Micki Free of Shalamar and top session bassist Michael Paige. In 1994 CROWN OF THORNS released its self-titled debut album. After a couple of line-up changes 1995 saw the foursome tour throughout Europe alongside such luminaries as Bon Jovi and Van Halen. Following another four successful studio albums, Jean was chosen as CEO and MD of Renegade Nation, a music company founded by legendary Little Steven Van Zandt (Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band). Meanwhile, Beauvoir, who co-penned a couple of major hits by rock icons KISS, kept on writing new songs for CROWN OF THORNS. So when the right chance came in 2008 he connected with Frontiers Records (Journey, Toto, Survivor), followed by the European release of the band’s latest album entitled “Faith”, which brought back the trademark CROWN OF THORNS sound. Currently the foursome is closing in on a new release for 2014.

Line-up: Jean Beauvoir (vx, gtr), Tommy Lafferty (gtr), Michael Paige (bs), Hawk Lopez (dr)
