Sister Sin
Spawned from the gutters of Gothenburg In 2002, Sister Sin entered the local scene as a hard-hitting, female fronted, metal/sleaze band entirely relentless to the current trend In Sweden at the time.
Musically borrowing from artists such as early Motley Crue and WASP, but also from bands as Motörhead and the Ramones.
Although Sister Sin strikes a heavier note with lyrics that brings your mind closer to punk and with an attitude and street style that can relate to their dysfunctional, hostile and self-destructive way of mind.
Hardly one year from start, by 2003, the band released their first album through indie label Sleaszy Rider entitled “dance of the wicked”.
But unsatisfied with the labels lack of promotion and distribution Sister Sin decided to leave and instead sign with swedish Brand Music AB in 2004.
They recorded the single “Minor You-Major Me” together with producer Henrik Edenhed (Kent, Sahara Hotnights, The Sounds..) with good results. Just weeks before shooting the video, the label went out of business. A year of legal struggle passed until Sister Sin finally got their rights and Master back for the songs.
In 2005 they released their single on their website www.sistersin.com , and on www.download.com - where it got 6000 downloads over a short period of time and got to be Editors Pick. Top-notch grades poured in from magazines like Close Up, Sweden Rock Magazine etc and Sister Sin did numerous live shows all over the county. The band also made It to the top three in MTV competition “Nordic Unsigned”
2006 started off opening the compilation album “Swedish sleaze” and made it to two issues of Italian Flash Magazine. Their site at myspace: www.myspace.com/sisterssin started gaining visitors and have an average of almost 100 listeners per day. Continuing the year with a part tour in Germany with WASP, 15 club dates in Sweden and finishing with the Masters Of Rock Winter festival in Czech Republic with Cradle Of Filth, Doro, DeathStars among others. In mid December, Sister Sin found themselves in IF Studios (owned by In Flames ) recording 2 new tracks: “On Parole” and “Hostile/Violent”
