After causing significant damage throughout the world over the past two years with their Doomsday Machine, the mighty ARCH ENEMY triumphantly return with possibly the landmark album of their already heralded career. For this new masterpiece, “Rise of The Tyrant”, these masters of metal have returned to acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, At The Gates) at  Studio Fredman, where the band had recorded all of their albums through “Wages Of Sin” (2001). ARCH ENEMY mastermind Michael Amott (guitars) states:  “Rise of The Tyrant”, is the ultimate ARCH ENEMY album! To me, it sounds like the perfect mix of melody and brutality.
This disc is an organic and honest statement from the band – it’s pure f**king metal at its absolute best, the ARCH ENEMY way.
 
ARCH ENEMY’s previous album, “Doomsday Machine”, mixed by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, Nevermore), turned out
to be the band’s most successful release to date, achieving impressive chart positions in countries like the USA (#87), Germany (#34) or the UK (#81), to name but a few. It lead directly to the band securing appearances on both the prestigious Ozzfest and Gigantour in North America, as part of what became the most aggressive and intense touring cycle in ARCH ENEMY’s career. A total of four North American tours, two visits to Australia, several tours in UK and Europe (incl. slots at festivals like Download, Wacken, With Full Force, Graspop, Fields Of Rock, etc.), two visits to Japan and culminating the marathon run in early 2007 in South America. Success was further enhanced by the release of their debut DVD “Live Apocalypse” in 2006 which was hailed the world over as the essential extreme metal DVD. 
Following the release of this new album, ARCH ENEMY will make their much-anticipated return to European stages in Nov./Dec. as part of the “Black Crusade” tour with Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce and Shadows Fall, with more worldwide liveactivity to follow. Charged with unmatched musicianship and inspired songwriting, never letting up on the power yet displaying prominently the band’s trademark melodic edge, “Rise of The Tyrant”  ultimately  redefines the genre ARCH ENEMY helped to create.
